The incredible benefits of earthing

The human body requires a constant source of negatively charged electrons in order prevent an excessive build-up of positively charged free radicals. The body needs to maintain a balance between positive and negative charge in order to prevent too much oxidative stress and free radical damage occurring. The body is a system requiring occasional recharging by conductive contact with the Earth’s surface – the “battery” for all planetary life – to be optimally effective.

This is important because prolonged oxidative stress leads to DNA damage, inflammation and an increased risk of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, central nervous system, autoimmune and inflammatory disorders.

Our modern lifestyle is often devoid of direct earth contact, particularly in light of the introduction of non-conductive rubber soled shoes. The research suggests that this disconnect may be a major contributor to physiological dysfunction and poor health. Reconnection with the Earth's electrons has been found to promote physiological changes and subjective reports of well-being.

Earthing (or grounding) refers to the discovery of benefits from walking barefoot outside or sitting, working, or sleeping indoors connected to conductive systems that transfer the Earth's electrons from the ground into the body.

The health benefits of earthing are well documented with 21 research studies in peer-reviewed journals in areas from sleep, inflammation, pain, blood circulation, heart rate variability, mood, muscle damage/recovery, hypertension and more.

TIP: Use an earthing sheet on your bed.
TIP: Use earthing or grounding shoes or sandals and shoes made with conductive materials and often having a copper plug at the base.
TIP: When at a park or beach take your shoes off. Other times, be barefoot in nature at least once a week for at least 1 hour each time. You can also use  grounding mat.
